Rockpool Perth and WA Good Food Guide present A Night of Festivities A Festive Grand Finale to 2021

Friday, 29 November 2021: Rockpool Bar & Grill Perth has partnered with the West Australian Good Food Guide to deliver the prestigious guide’s Christmas event, WAGFG x Rockpool – A Night of Festivities, on Wednesday, 1 December.

Rockpool Perth will host an indulgent multi-course feast for the highly anticipated ticketed event, inspired by a treasure trove of West Australian produce, accompanied by award-winning WA wines.

The menu, presented by Rockpool Perth Head Chef Brendan Owens, showcases WA’s bountiful summer harvest and pays tribute to produce that traditionally bestows an Australian festive feast, including Akoya oysters from Leeuwin Coast, Skull Island prawns, peaches and plums sourced from Bickley Valley, local cranberries and hazelnuts, and macadamia nuts from MacNuts farm on the sandy coastal plain of Baldivis.

An oyster shucking station and a quartet of decadent canapes will herald the start of the Christmas celebrations, followed by entrees to share, including Linley Valley Christmas hams, then ‘The Main Feast’, including Mt Barker chickens stuffed with macadamia and cranberry cooked on the rotisserie, slow cooked Rose Mallee brisket and Glacier 51 Toothfish with Tarragon Butter Sauce and Finger Lime.

A dessert showcase is one of pure festivity: Christmas Pudding with Eggnog, Pavlova with cream and fruit, Lamingtons with Davidson Plum Jam and Chantilly, and Pimm’s trifle.

SevenZeroEight gin cocktails will be served alongside a hit list of WA wines from Margaret River founding winery Vasse Felix, family owned Silverstream Wines from Denmark in the Great Southern wine region, and Frankland River winery, Swinney.

WA Good Food Guide Director Georgia Moore said the partnership with Rockpool Bar & Grill Perth was an alignment of two like-minded WA institutions that shared a passion for local producers, ingredients and culinary experiences.

“Off the back of our highly successful truffles and spring dining series, as well as our sold-out awards night, we are delighted to finish what’s been an incredible year for the guide by way of a celebratory occasion. We are delighted to be collaborating with a WAGFG favourite, on our first ever Christmas event. The respect that Chef Owens pays to local producers is commendable and we look forward to the evening being a true celebration of WA talent”.

Rockpool Bar & Grill Head Chef Brendan Owens said summer was one of his favourite times of the year, with an abundance of beautiful produce that was naturally affiliated with the festive season.

“Western Australia blesses us with everything from sustainable seafood to locally grown beef and poultry, hand-made cheese, and a plethora of native fruits, vegetables and nuts that sing with festive flavours,” Chef Owens said.

“This very special menu is a tribute to WA produce, classic Christmas dishes and desserts, and some of our state’s most spectacular wines, and will be a sensational 2021 finale for our guests and industry friends who share WAGFG and Rockpool Perth’s culinary love.”
